Join the Green Life Project and one of our organizational partners, Higher Ground Neighborhood Development Corporation as we engage in four service projects across De Fremery Park.

The projects include bench/pole painting, general maintenance, beautification of the front entrance, and building a community garden.

Please note that all CDC guidelines will be enforced and masks are required.

Join us! Green Life leaders and youth are having a COVID safe community-building outdoor event and gathering, all are welcome!

The activities of the Green Life Reentry and Youth Leadership Community Forum will bring together incarceral system impacted leaders, youth, community partners, and residents of East Oakland. We engage in transformative and restorative justice to address intersectional challenges of race, gender, ageism, exceptional abilities, equity, and the need for community-based alternatives to violence.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided

Youth will receive $25 gift cards,

Please wear a mask, if you need one, we will provide masks as well as gloves.

Bring a jacket (the park is near the water)

We will be social distancing and hikes will be groups of 5-10 people.

We invite the communities most impacted by the intersections of incarceration, re-entry, social identity, and place, including youth of color and their families. This reentry community-building leadership forum will bring together incarceral system impacted leaders, young people, and community partners. This forum will utilize and explore best practices in transformative and restorative justice to engage with intersectional challenges of race, gender, ageism, exceptional abilities, equity, and the need for community-based solutions.

The goal of the leadership forum will be to build a relationship with attendees and hear feedback from the community on solutions to better support those most impacted by the incarceral system.
